The Pharmacy Guild of Australia, New South Wales Branch President, David Heffernan is proud to announce that the New South Wales Minister for Health, the Honourable Ryan Park, will officially open the 2024 Pharmacy Connect conference in Sydney on Thursday 5 September at the Hyatt Regency.

The Minister will officially open the Welcome Reception and address the hundreds of delegates registered to attend this year’s event.

Hosted by The Pharmacy Guild of Australia, Pharmacy Connect is an annual conference held at the Hyatt Regency Sydney from Thursday 5 to Saturday 7 September 2024.

Branch President, David Heffernan said it is an honour to welcome the Minister Park to the conference.

“We are very pleased to have Minister Park officially open the conference.

“With the success of the NSW UTI trial and the commencement of the skin conditions trial, it’s clear pharmacists have an increasing role in providing everyday health care across our state. We’re grateful that Minister Park is willing to engage with the community pharmacy sector to attain a deeper understanding of the opportunity these changes present,” says Mr Heffernan.

Mr Heffernan said Minister Park joins an impressive line-up of speakers including Olympian Peter Bol and financial journalist and commentator, Effie Zahos.

With a theme of ‘Connect today, shape tomorrow’, the 2024 Pharmacy Connect conference will bring together pharmacists, suppliers, and key industry leaders to discuss issues impacting community pharmacy both now, and into the future.

The conference features pre-conference workshops on ownership, regulatory activities and full scope of practice, a two-day education program, a 70 stand trade exhibition plus social networking opportunities. For those wanting to attend, registration is still open. For further details you can visit the conference website here.
