Dr Sheryl van Nunen is a Senior Staff Specialist in the Department of Clinical Immunology and Allergy at Royal North Shore Hospital and Clinical Associate Professor at Sydney Medical School – Northern, The University of Sydney. A clinician and medical educator who first described the association between mammalian meat anaphylaxis and prior tick bites in 2007, Sheryl has over 150 publications to her credit. She has been the principal investigator in clinical trials of 75% of all therapies introduced to Australia for allergic diseases during her 40 year career, and her research interests comprise mammalian meat anaphylaxis following previous tick bite and tick-induced anaphylaxis.
